Microsoft has revealed the specs for their newest console, the Xbox Series X. The powerhouse will be released later this year and based off what we’ve been told it’s going to be another big leap ahead for console gaming.
The console will include a octa-core Zen 2 CPU running at 3.8 GHz, a custom RDNA 2 GPU with 12 TFLOPS and 52 CUs. It comes with 16gb of GDDR6 memory, and an internal storage of 1TB SSD.
Xbox is reporting that their performance target is nothing short of 4K at 60FPS and up to 120FPS on certain games.
The previous generation of Xbox consoles are now approaching their seventh year, which is about the age that consoles are retired due to increasing hardware demands. Based off the current spec sheet, it’s clear that Microsoft is aiming for another seven year run with their latest beast.
The Xbox Series X will be released for Holiday 2020, but no official date has been set yet.
